Male Goldeneye & Female Buffleheads

A nice day today to go out for a bike ride - windy and chilly but sunny.

On the water, I spotted three companions traveling together - a male Common Goldeneye and two female Buffleheads.

Female Buffleheads? Yep.

Female Bufflehead (Bucephala albeola)
Female Bufflehead is not bad looking at all.

The birds were swimming against the river flow on this windy and cold day. They ended sheltering next to the dock where the water is calmer.

Picturesque Afternoon
While waiting to photograph some gulls in flight, this pretty scene captured my attention.

With the sun setting later nowadays, I decided to bike to Finn Slough.

North Shore Mountains
Sunny here in Lower Mainland, but I'd imagine it was snowing in higher elevations.
