Gulls at low tide

Biking along the South Dyke Trail, I noticed this immature Bald Eagle on the tree.

Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus)

It seemed to be perching awkwardly, so I looked at its talons and noticed it was only perching on one foot and withdraw its left foot. It was difficult to tell if it is injured or something because it looks alright. I hope I am just imagining it.

Photographing a tiny tiny spider.

Around 3~4-pm, the tide was quite low (lowest was 1.6-m at 17:01, according to http://www.tides.gc.ca/).

Gulls standing around.

Sandy patterns.

Gulls flying around above the shallow water.

I tried to see what the gulls are feeding on but they quickly dipped their bill into the water and flew away - either the fish is very small or they are after the small invertebrates in the shallow water.

In the end, I just took a lot of gulls-in-flight photos.

Love that 5th picture from the bottom up of the gull, wings forward and a swirl of a splash!

Thanks for the b/day greetings.
